All staff undergo annual Performance Appraisals with their managers. This provides the opportunity to review the past year, consider the achievements, the areas for improvement and identify training and development needs. There are also formal objectives set in place for the following year.

All Austereo employees have a training and development plan. This identifies areas for development and specific courses that the employee needs to complete during the year, in line with the areas identified during their appraisal.

Professional development is seen as a shared responsibility between employees and their managers – and there are many success stories of people who have achieved their career aspirations.

Sales based training

Our sales training is of industry leading standard, and is one of the key points of difference from our competitors.

For the past ten years Austereo has worked closely with one of the world's leading edge sales consulting companies, The Centre for Sales Strategy. The training that we provide is world best practice, and focuses on the specific needs of the market and individuals in an ever changing media and consumer environment.

New employees are given an extensive radio / Austereo training plan and all staff are provided extensive on-going training to develop their skills year on year.

For our managers, we offer an on-going program on how to be great people managers – including how to provide feedback and relationship building with their team.

For our top sellers, we have a sophisticated training course designed to delve deep into the strategic marketing alliance between our stations and clients that fit our ideal customer profile.
